"Duel-aspect", "volted ceilings": we expose the most common estate agent howlers

The most distinctive feature of home-properties.co.uk is our use of tags - we extract styles and features from property descriptions and allow you to filter search results by them using the links you see on the left of every page. The tags are automatically generated by our tagger based on words and phrases - and their surrounding context - in the descriptions.

Of course this means that the tags are only as accurate as the property descriptions, and one thing that makes life harder for the tagger is when words are not spelled correctly. Spelling mistakes mean that the tagger needs to search for "menage" as well as "manege", "dorma" as well as "dormer", "volted" as well as "vaulted".

So, to get our own back, and in the hope of improving estate agent spelling, we're going to keep a weekly report of the most common misspellings.

Below you will find this week's Hall of Shame.
